Day 13: Valentine.

Friday was split between the vet's office and work.
Yesterday was spent selling my cards
at the Brooklyn Flea at the Bank.
Today I actually made a "thing"

This is my valentine for my boyfriend
a little pocket accordion book.
Pictures of exotic places are inside the pockets
along with a few secret notes.

I hope he likes it.

Day 8: Lists

I don't know what it is about 2011-but I always feel busy.
My creative endeavors for this thing-a-day seem to be going by the wayside.
Today I made lists. financial lists, to do lists, to buy lists.
Kinda boring, I know- but I've been way too forgetful lately,
so hopefully these lists will help me stay on track.
Now off to work...

Day 4: German Pancakes

This is my all time favorite pancake recipe.
Much more like a crepe than a fluffy pancake,
but with less flour and sugar they have to be a little better for you, right??
eh maybe not-but they are still delicious.
I usually eat them with bananas and pecans or blueberries-
but you can put just about anything on them.

4 eggs
1/2 c flour
2 tsp sugar (less if you like-I usually use 1 tsp)
pinch of salt
1/2c milk
butter for the pan

**I also add a good amount of cinnamon to the dry mixture
You don't have to, but I highly recommend it.

Sift flour, sugar and salt together.
Using a beater, whip eggs until light and frothy; beat in milk.
Turn flour mixture into beaten egg and, still using beater,
whip until you have a smooth batter.

Melt 2tbsp butter (or enough to cover the bottom of the pan)
in a 10" or 12" skillet, and pour in just enough batter
to cover bottom with a thin layer.

As soon as you pour batter, tilt and rotate the pan so
the batter will run over it evenly. Cook over moderate heat
until pancakes are golden brown on underside; turn and
brown second side. Remove to platter.

Day 1: Mapache 3 Ways.

Day1

It was surprisingly hard for me to get into this today.

just got back from a weekend in Mexico,
so it's possible that I left all of my motivation on the beach.
(it's also a lot harder to function without sunshine)

I've started this off by drawing one of my favorite little creatures.
Mapaches (raccoons). Lovey, Luchador and Snuggler.
